Waterproofing is not an optional extra

Most bathroom complaints we're called in to look at come from the same place — tiles laid straight onto plasterboard with no waterproofing, shower trays that weren't sealed to the waste, silicon doing the job a proper membrane should have done. It's cheap, fast, and it rots the plasterboard within a few winters.

Every bathroom and wet room we install gets a two-coat liquid tanking membrane, reinforced corners and a solid substrate under the tiles. You shouldn't need to know what that looks like — but if it's not there, you'll find out eventually.

A proper bathroom package

Every trade a bathroom needs, under one contract. No hunting for a plumber, then a tiler, then an electrician, then a decorator — just one team, start to finish.

  • Bathroom Design — Layout CAD and visualisation so you see the finished room before the first tile is ordered.
  • Full Strip-Out — Existing suite, tiling and flooring out, waste and soil stacks checked and replaced where they've seen better days.
  • Waterproofing — Two-coat liquid tanking membrane to every wet area — floors, shower walls, bath surrounds.
  • Plumbing & Waste — New concealed cistern frames, thermostatic showers, bath and basin wastes — all 22mm where hot and cold feeds need it.
  • Electrics — IP-rated lighting, shaver sockets, extractor fans and mains-fed underfloor heating mats — NICEIC certified.
  • Tiling — Large-format porcelain, mosaic, stone — laser-levelled setting-out with mitred corners, not clunky trims.
  • Suite Installation — Concealed frames, wall-hung WCs, thermostatic shower bars and freestanding baths fitted level and solid.
  • Finishing — Grouting, silicon pointing, decorating and a deep clean before handover. Walk-in, don't step-over.

Level-access wet rooms, built to drain

A wet room is mostly substrate, with the finish on top. Get the floor deck, the fall, the drain and the tanking right, and the tiled finish will last for decades. Get any of those wrong and no amount of silicon will keep the water off the joists below. Every wet room we fit has the joists checked, the fall laser-set, and the tanking inspected before tiling — with the client invited to look at it before we close it up. Stainless-steel linear or trapped point drains, frameless walk-in glass screens and electric underfloor heating as standard.

En-suites that belong to the bedroom

Most en-suite problems aren't the plumbing — they're the layout. A badly-sized shower you can't stand in, a WC you can't close the door on, a basin the wardrobe won't open next to. We CAD up the layout, walk you through the options, and don't order a single stud until you've signed off on the plan. Boosted hot water where the existing cylinder or mains pressure won't carry a new shower, acoustic-insulated stud partitions, and the same two-coat tanking standard as our wet rooms.

Bathrooms & Wet Rooms FAQs

How much does a bathroom renovation cost in Cheshire?

Every bathroom is individually quoted to the specification and the room. We don't work to fixed list pricing — after a free site visit you receive a fully itemised written quotation with no hidden costs.

How much does a wet room cost?

Every wet room is individually quoted — cost depends on the substrate works, drainage, tanking and the tiling specification. After a free site visit we provide a fully itemised written quotation with no hidden costs.

How long does a bathroom or wet room take?

Lead times typically run from several weeks to several months, depending on the scope of the work. We confirm the programme as part of the written quotation following the site visit.

Can any bathroom become a wet room?

Most can, but not all. A timber-floor first-floor bathroom needs joists either notched or replaced with steels to build in the fall to the drain. Solid-floor ground-floor rooms are usually straightforward. We check feasibility at the site visit.

Can you carve an en-suite out of an existing bedroom?

Yes — partitioning off a corner of a bedroom, converting a wardrobe recess or extending into airing-cupboard space are all common approaches. We'll CAD up the options so you see how the bedroom works after the en-suite is in.

Do you tank and waterproof every wet area?

Yes — every shower area and wet room gets the same two-coat liquid membrane treatment with reinforced corner and joint tape, before any tiling goes down. Non-negotiable.
