A significant structural renovation of our downstairs — removing internal walls to create a large open-plan living space, a new downstairs WC, new flooring throughout, a brand-new kitchen and patio doors. The quality of workmanship has been outstanding and the project was completed within the agreed timescales. Any minor snags were dealt with promptly, often almost immediately.

We started 2025 with a 2-storey chimney being taken out. The lads did such a good job we gave them the rest of our renovation — two small extensions, a new downstairs toilet and kitchen, upstairs bathroom, a bedroom move and renovation, finishing with a full back garden renovation. We've had many comments on how good the work looks, especially the brickwork.

We've recently had a knock-through between the lounge and dining room along with other internal and brick work. We're extremely pleased with the quality — everything finished to a high standard, the team were professional, tidy and clearly took pride in what they were doing. Communication with Craig was great throughout and they stuck to the agreed timeline.

After getting a few quotes for our kitchen, we chose Cheshire Design & Build NW and I'm glad we did. They turned up when they said they would, kept us updated, and got on with the job without any fuss. The finished kitchen looks fantastic. Reliable, respectful, and they clearly take pride in their work.

Excellent. Craig replied immediately and viewed the job. A detailed price and timeline was sent. Once the job was underway problems occurred — not Craig's fault — new plans were made and the job was done. Communication was 100%, that's important for me, and a cleaner is sent in at the end of the work. A great job done. Would definitely recommend.

Brilliant company, amazing team. Came to fit a lintel for me and brick up the outside of the house. The job was finished quickly and efficiently — very friendly and knowledgeable. Thank you so much, highly recommend.

This company has been the best to work with in terms of professionalism and quality — not like other companies I have worked with in the past. 10/10 service 👍

A wet room is mostly substrate, with finish on top

Get the floor deck, the fall, the drain and the tanking right, and a wet room's tiled finish lasts for decades. Get any of those wrong and no amount of silicone keeps the water off the joists below. Every wet room we fit has the joists checked, the fall laser-set and the tanking inspected before tiling — and we'll invite you to look at it before we close it up.

Level-access by design, which also makes a wet room the most genuinely accessible way to build a bathroom.

Built right, under the tiles

  • Deck & fall — joists checked, floor formed and the fall to the drain laser-set.
  • Tanking — full two-coat liquid membrane, reinforced at every corner and joint, inspected before tiling.
  • Drainage — stainless-steel linear or trapped point drains sized for the flow.
  • Level access — a flush, threshold-free finish — practical for accessibility as well as looks.
  • Heating & finish — electric underfloor heating, frameless screens and a premium tiled finish.

Part of our bathroom renovation service. For level-access and accessible wet rooms, we build in grab rails and seating where needed — confirm requirements at the site visit.

Wet Room Installation FAQs

What makes a wet room different from a shower room?

A wet room is fully tanked and level-access — the whole floor is the waterproofed shower area, draining to a linear or point drain, with no tray and no threshold. It's more involved to build, but it lasts and it's the most accessible option.

Can a wet room be made accessible?

Yes — the level-access, threshold-free design is inherently accessible, and we can build in grab rails, seating and the right drainage for wheelchair use. Tell us the requirements at the site visit and we'll design to them.

Will it leak?

Not if the substrate, fall, drain and tanking are right — which is exactly what we get inspected before tiling, and invite you to see. Most wet-room failures come from skipping that stage; we don't.

Do you install wet rooms in Alderley Edge and Wilmslow?

Yes — Alderley Edge, Wilmslow and Knutsford are core areas for our wet-room work, where the specification tends to be higher: frameless glass, large-format stone or porcelain, linear drains and underfloor heating throughout.

Where do you work?

Across Cheshire and the North West — including Alderley Edge, Wilmslow, Knutsford, Warrington, Stockton Heath, Lymm, Hale and Stockport.
